M.Sc IN CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

I have a M.Sc in Chemical Engineering from NTNU, Trondheim. I wrote my diploma thesis in Prague, met a Swede, and we made a move to Gothenburg. Some years later, the journey continued to Oslo where we live today with our two boys of 11 and 14 years. 

I DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO GO GREEN

After years of project work in different industries, most recently in oil & gas, it came to a point where I started feeling conflicted about working in the petroleum industry. Also, I wanted to be proud of what I do in discussions with my climate-conscious children. I decided it was time to go green. The opportunity to work with sustainable and novel technologies in a forward-thinking company like Vow was inspiring. That is why I chose Vow.

WE ARE BUILDING A TURNKEY FACTORY AT FOLLUM

I work as a project manager at the research and development department, currently on a project for industrial production of biocarbon for the metallurgical industry. We are building a turnkey factory at Follum in Eastern Norway, where wood waste is turned into biocarbon and gas through our pyrolysis process. The biocarbon will replace fossil coal in the metallurgical industry, and the gas will be used for district heating. The demand for biocarbon in Norway alone is estimated at 400 000 tonnes annually by 2030. For comparison, the initial capacity at Follum will be 10 000 tonnes per year.

IT FEELS GOOD TO CONTRIBUTE TO VALORIZATION OF WASTE

I love to travel and have been around the world with my family.  We have traveled around in Vietnam, Mexico and Panama, and have seen how plastic and other garbage is thrown into the ocean and the tropical rainforest. It feels good to contribute to valorization of waste and to prevent pollution.
